Annual QuickStage plans: billed yearly, credits monthly

Annual QuickStage plans charge once a year, but credits and QuickFix re-dos refresh monthly. What the renewal and reset dates on Manage mean, and the 10-month rule.

By QuickStage Team7 min read

An annual QuickStage plan charges you once a year, at just under 10 times the monthly price, but your staging credits and QuickFix re-dos still arrive one month at a time. On the Manage subscription page, the renewal date is the day the next yearly charge happens, and the reset date is the day this month's credits refresh. Unused plan credits don't carry over to the next month, while $1 pay-as-you-go credits never expire.

This guide explains how it works, what each date on the Manage page means, and how to tell whether annual billing is worth it for you.

How is an annual QuickStage plan billed?

You pay for the full year in one charge at checkout. The plan cards show it as "2 months free", because each annual price is a little less than 10 monthly payments. Every plan has the same photo and QuickFix allowance on either billing cycle; only the way you pay changes.

Plan Billed once a year Photos per month QuickFix per month Per photo at full use Saved vs 12 monthly payments
Basic $199 75 7 $0.22 $40.88
Pro $399 225 20 $0.15 $80.88
Studio $999 650 50 $0.13 $200.88
Agency $1,999 1,500 100 $0.11 $400.88

The per-photo figure assumes you use every credit, every month. Use fewer and your real cost per photo goes up, which is why the plan size matters more than the billing cycle. The monthly prices for the same plans are $19.99, $39.99, $99.99 and $199.99, and you can flip between both views with the annual toggle on QuickStage's pricing page.

Do I get all 12 months of credits at once?

No. An annual plan gives you one month's allowance at a time. When your payment goes through, the first month's credits and QuickFix re-dos land on your account right away. About a month later they refresh, and that repeats every month until the year is up.

So a Pro annual plan doesn't hand you 2,700 credits on day one. It gives you 225 photos and 20 QuickFix re-dos each month for 12 months. Your welcome email and the checkout page both say it the same way: billed yearly, credits refresh every month.

The refresh runs automatically. We check annual accounts every day, and if you open the Manage page or stage a photo after your reset date has passed, the refresh happens right then.

Do unused credits roll over, and where do $1 credits fit?

Plan credits don't roll over. On each reset date your plan balance goes back to the plan's full monthly amount; it doesn't add the new month on top of what's left. For example, if you're on Pro and finish a month with 85 credits unused, you start the next month with 225, not 310. The same goes for QuickFix re-dos: the allowance goes back to the plan amount each month.

This works exactly the way it does on monthly plans. Paying for the year up front buys the lower price; it doesn't turn the monthly allowance into a yearly pool you can save up.

Single credits you buy at $1 each are kept separately from your plan. They never expire, they survive every monthly reset, and they stay on your account if the plan ends.

On the Manage page, "Credits remaining" counts both kinds together. If you have 12 $1 credits on a Pro plan, a fresh month can show 237 out of 225. That isn't an error; the 12 extra are yours to keep.

This makes $1 credits a handy overflow for the occasional heavy month. If you stage 240 photos in one month on Pro, 15 single credits cover the gap without moving to a bigger plan.

What do the dates on the Manage page mean?

Open the Manage subscription page, enter the email your plan is under, and confirm the sign-in link if we ask. On an annual plan you'll see a line like this:

Billed annually · renews March 10, 2027. Credits refresh monthly (next: April 10).

Two dates, two jobs:

  • The renewal date (with the year) is when your annual subscription renews and the next yearly charge is made. It's also the last day of the year you've paid for.
  • The reset date (month and day) is when this month's credits and QuickFix re-dos refresh. It also appears as "Resets" on the balance card, next to your credits remaining.

For example, say you buy Pro annual on March 10. You're charged $399 that day and get 225 credits and 20 QuickFix re-dos. The reset date reads April 10, then May 10, and so on through the year. The renewal date stays March 10 of next year the whole time.

If you use every credit before the reset date, the balance card says you've used all your credits for this period and shows the date they come back. To stage before then, buy a few $1 credits or upgrade.

On the renewal date, if the plan is still active, your card is charged the annual price again, the next year begins, and your credits and QuickFix re-dos refresh to the full monthly amount. A new set of monthly reset dates starts from there.

If that renewal payment fails, the plan isn't cancelled, but plan credits and QuickFix re-dos are held back until a payment succeeds. Your $1 credits stay usable the whole time. To fix it, press Manage plan / Cancel on the Manage page, which opens the billing portal run by Stripe, our payment processor, and update your card there.

Can I cancel, change or get a refund on an annual plan?

Yes, from the same Manage page, with no fees. A few details work differently on a yearly cycle:

  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan keeps running until the renewal date, and credits keep refreshing monthly until then, because that year is already paid for. After the renewal date, the account moves to the free tier, unused plan credits and QuickFix re-dos end, and your $1 credits stay.
  • Upgrading takes effect right away. You're charged the price difference and get the new plan's full monthly allowance immediately.
  • Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current billing period, which on an annual plan is the renewal date. Check that date before you downgrade so you know when the change applies.
  • Refunds follow the same 7-day window as every plan: email support@quickstage.io from your account email within 7 days of the yearly charge. Annual refunds are reviewed and prorated by unused credits across the whole year.

Our step-by-step guide to changing, cancelling or refunding a plan covers each of those paths in full.

Is annual billing worth it for me?

We use a simple test we call the 10-month rule. Annual costs roughly what 10 monthly payments would, so it saves money if you'd keep the plan at least 10 months of the year anyway. If you stage steadily, such as a set number of listings every month, annual is the cheaper way to pay for the same allowance.

It's the wrong choice in three situations:

  1. Your volume swings a lot. Unused plan credits reset each month, so a slow month is money you don't get back. A smaller plan plus $1 credits for busy months may cost less.
  2. You're not sure which plan size fits. Start monthly for a month or two, watch the "used" figure on the Manage page, then switch to annual on the right size.
  3. You stage only now and then. At a handful of photos a month, $1 per photo with no subscription beats any plan.

Bottom line

An annual QuickStage plan is one charge a year for 12 monthly allowances. Credits and QuickFix re-dos refresh on the reset date each month and don't roll over; $1 credits never expire and sit on top. The renewal date on the Manage page is your next yearly charge, and the reset date is your next refresh. If you'd keep a plan at least 10 months a year, annual is the cheaper way to pay.

Frequently asked questions

Does an annual QuickStage plan give me all 12 months of credits up front?

No. You pay for the year in one charge, but credits and QuickFix re-dos arrive one month at a time. The first month lands right after payment, and the allowance refreshes on your reset date each month after that.

Do unused credits roll over on an annual QuickStage plan?

No. On each monthly reset date, plan credits and QuickFix re-dos go back to the plan's full monthly amount rather than stacking. Only $1 pay-as-you-go credits carry forward, because they never expire.

What is the difference between the renewal date and the reset date on the Manage page?

The renewal date, shown with the year, is when your annual subscription renews and the next yearly charge is made. The reset date, shown as month and day, is when this month's credits and QuickFix re-dos refresh.

If I cancel an annual plan, do I lose my credits right away?

No. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your credits keep refreshing monthly until the renewal date, since that year is paid for. After that date the account moves to the free tier and any $1 credits stay.

How much cheaper is annual billing on QuickStage?

Each annual price is just under 10 monthly payments, shown as 2 months free. Basic is $199 a year instead of 12 payments of $19.99, and Agency is $1,999 a year, which works out to $0.11 a photo at full use.
